Description
For sale my pride and joy and project for last 5 years. It started as a purchase from a family member that had It stored away for 10 years in a council block garage. It was parked up due to failing an MOT and the usual rust/ rot in floor pans front and rear scuttle rear valance etc. Loads and loads of pictures from the day we rescued It and set about doing a build on It. wasn't looking to go as far but that's wishful thinking with a mini! things escalate and things arise that wasn't first noticed. firsts thing we did was strip it all down subframes off and called a good friend and fellow enthusiast of all things British Leyland. He has loads of experience with restoring his own mini's and works with metal/ welding etc. We didn't scrimp and wanted to get whole panels so as not to have patchwork so we brought complete front floor pans and rear valance and boot floor and both front scuttles all welded in correctly taking lots of time to make sure everything was correct. As you will see from the before pics It was in great condition It was only the bits that I mention that needed welding. We did the whole underside new rear subframe and then cavity waxed and undersealed all new brake lines and a complete wiring loom front to back all fitted by a classic car specialist Goss Hall Classics other work was completed by Goss Hall Classics a huge folder of receipts all detailing everything we brought down to every nut and bolt that we needed or wanted to replace where needed. We decided we would get a very expensive Loom brought and fitted (£750 all in) as we wanted to know that It's safe, too many bodged examples with poor wiring plus new battery terminal and new earth wire nothing wasn't changed every bit of wiring all done by them. New fuse box etc

Engine
12A Series 1275 Cooper engine very healthy power after visiting BD Engineering it made 74bhp for a engine rebuilt prior to us buying it we are unsure of the internals ie what Cam It is running or if Its standard. We have fitted a HIF 44 carb we had this fully rebuilt by Goss Hall Classics along with loads of other bits. Goss Hall fitted new fuel hoses all upgraded to braided lines fast road electric fuel pump fitted on switch for better fuel delivery, Performance inlet manifold / Performance exhaust Manifold and Exhaust system all new. Oil pipe for the gauge oil pressure adaptor / Ultimate engine steady with Polyflex bush + some custom brackets. New fan and belt + spare
As with every classic and the fact I haven't been able to use it for a long time I wanted to get it back to BD Engineering after we had the carb rebuilt and new Head Gasket fitted to retune It. I had some paint crack on the top of each front scuttle that has been temporally painted (see picture) however it can and is ready to be painted but I don't have the time, no rust It was lacquer that split during the time Its been sat in the garage.
Its been garaged all of my ownership and as mentioned prior to me owning It my uncle had it sat in a garage for 10 years!
This is with a very heavy heart that I list this car blood sweat and many tears during the build but so many smiles outweigh the frustrating times! this really has been a labour of love but just needs someone else to take it to the next level get it tuned and add your bit. 4 inch thick folder over £4500+ spent on parts and labour I don't want to add It all up! Its not a show and shine car but that's something the new owner can decide on but everything else is done bar a few tweaks here and there. Its not been used in a few years but started on the button just needs a tune to run as it should as mentioned.
Being a 1977 Its MOT and Tax exempt insurance is £100 a year so really is such a cheap car to keep.
