1966 VW Beetle Bahama Blue
A true survivor car. Originally from Finland, imported into the UK in 2018. I have correspondence with the Finnish owner, who owned the car since 1999. The mileage at 135. 000km is believed to be correct but cannot be proven. So that’s about 90k miles.
All original, has had 1 repaint in the early 2000’s. A good quality repaint as it still presents really well.
Interior is all original and in amazing condition. 66 only seats are in almost perfect condition. Original doorcards, headliner and so many correct 66 parts. Original Rubber matting still in place. Real time warp car.
Engine is a genuine VW exchange 1300. Probably fitted in the 60s or 70’s. All correct 66 parts present and correct. Correct 66 wheels and hubcaps.
Car runs and drives so well. The 66 was the first year of the 1300cc motor, it is significantly more powerful than the 1200 before it. And the first year of the ball joint beam.
Motor runs great, brakes all good. Has had a new dual circuit master cylinder fitted. This is the only non 66 part fitted (Original was single circuit)
New shocks all round, 4 x new tie rods ends too. I replaced the gear shift rod bushing. Gear shift is perfect and gearbox itself is smooth without any whine.
Untouched perfect electrics, still 6 volt and everything works fine. New optimus 6v battery.
Over winter I cleaned all the underseal from the inner arches, and floor pans. Lots of original paint there, and I repainted the pans in chassis black. These are all in very good condition and nothing hidden.
Bahama blue is such a nice classic colour.
I have the VW birth certificate, with the Finland delivery details.
Rare unmolested 66 bug, runs great. Great investment. Ready to enjoy and cherish.
