We are delighted to present for sale this very recently restored Land Rover®? Series 2a, presented in Deep Bronze Green with Limestone Wheels and Sand Canvas.
Externally, as the photos show, this Series 2a has all the features one would hope to see – a recent canvas, 700 tyres with new & matching bonnet mounted spare, vintage number plates, rear mud flaps and height adjustable tow bar with electrics. When the restoration was carried out, it was decided the bodywork should retain some of its original patina, which we think looks just right.
The interior is largely standard, with three front standard seats, with 3 point seat belts thanks to a seat belt bar. A new heater has been fitted with front demist, which is very appreciated in the colder weather. Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat, but for £595 could house rear bench seats which would mean seven occupants seated including the driver.
Out on the road, this Series 2a delivers a pleasing period drive, with the rebuild evident from behind the wheel. The larger tyres with free wheeling hubs afford the best fuel economy possible in the standard set up too.
We have included some photos showing the fresh chassis finish – as one can see, this is a very recent rebuild – this means that the prospective owner has a vehicle which they could keep for a long period of time – and at half the price of a brand new concourse restoration (which we currently have a 24 month wait on too), in our opinion, this affords excellent value for money – and you can have it immediately too. There is a dossier full of receipts and a CD of lots of rebuild photos supplied in the sales pack.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 2a Land Rover®? as an investment, or to keep in the family for a long period, then this could be for you. With MOT & Tax Exemption, along with classic insurance, this should prove to be cost effective to own in the longer term.
