Having arrived in San Mateo California to buy a 70 Mach 1 Brian the seller mentioned he might also consider parting with his 67 manual Fastback.
So what was already a good day, quickly turned into a very good day indeed.
The two Mustangs formed part of a small collection of Muscle Cars which Brian housed in a fully equipped garage repair shop he had bought from the retiring owner.
This provided a perfect dry environment to store his collection and allow easy maintenance from the fully equipped shop.
Brian had bought this C Code Fastback from the previous owner who had restored the car at his home and professional Mustang workshop in Idaho some years ago.
Originally built at the San Jose plant in California on the 14th June 1967 and sold into the Los Angeles District Sales area, the overall outstanding condition of the body and underside reflect the protective nature that the Californian sun provides for sheet metal!
Now without doubt, a true icon of American Muscle car design the 67 Fastback remains and will continue to remain one of the most desirable of all the Classic Mustangs and this example being a 4 Speed manual even more so!
Combine that with power steering and disc brakes, MSD electronic ignition and a four barrel carb add to the performance and overall driving experience.
The factory air conditioning has been restored and upgraded with a modern Sanden style compressor which gives much better cooling than the original “York” unit.
With this high level of equipment and overall condition to match, finding a better example would be a tough task.
