Description
This is a rare example being a Mk1, one of the original Southampton cars, early production Number 60 and is also originally a lime green gel coat example - the same colour as the original demonstrator car and brochure car.
Although the car is now black there is evidence of the lime gelcoat still showing in places in the cockpit and under bonnet.
The embossed body stamp is visible in the engine bay.
The car is registered as a Volkswagen under make on the V5 but by request 'Beetle' has been removed by DVLA under 'model' and this is now blank.
It is of course still a Volkswagen underneath it's amazing body and is running a 1600cc type 3 engine with Holley carb.
The vehicle is registered now as 'Historic' and is MOT and road tax exempt. Chassis number correct and matching.
1968 plate, an F reg.
Haven't started it for 2 months, fired up today but thats it,
needs timing, tune. Needs windscreen available from Pilkington.
The electric canopy is working.
