This beautiful Vermillion bright orange MG Midget is a fabulous example of the last of the line, the most powerful engine ever fitted to the Midget at 1500cc engine quoted at 65bhp, and with best equipment, making it very civilised and well able to keep up with modern traffic with a top speed quoted as 100mph, whilst still remaining nimble and fun in the Midget tradition. It could easily be used every day or kept for sunny weekends to keep the mileage reading near the exceptional 26, 000 miles.
The engine starts well and holds good oil pressure, performance is perky with good gear changes and strong brakes.
Featuring glossy black alloy Minilite style wheels with alloy finish outer rims the MG looks very attractive, like it has had an easy life and been superbly looked after, presenting fabulously with a recent full body respray, the bodyshell is exceptional with no rust issues. The paint finish is of a very high standard, and the original roof is in very good condition, complimented by a tonneau and hood cover. The interior remarkably untouched by time, some light wear on the edge of the door card, with original black vinyl seats, a very smart Moto-Lita leather bound steering wheel, and two keys are present with the car. It also has fitted rubber mats over a very smart carpet.
Under bonnet, the MG also looks untouched by time meaning this is a real ‘time warp' example, with recent MOTs showing nothing to be concerned about, and ownership being fun and uncomplicated.
The car comes with a new looking parts catalogue, a workshop manual in fair condition, driver's Manual, and sales catalogue. Records show six owners, the second owner in Taunton for twenty-seven years, most of the MOT certificates are also present.
