As recorded on the Heritage Certificate, chassis- 345-015-G was manufactured on 10/ 11/ 69 and dispatched to Sturgess Land Rover, Leicester on 13/ 11/ 69. Sturgess supplied the vehicle to Cliff Barrows Ltd where it was pressed into service as their recovery truck for the next 27 years. Cliff Barrows Ltd still exists and I was able to contact a family member who was able to confirm the very low mileage and also that it was dry stored from day one. It's still fondly remembered by the Barrows family. The overall condition can only be described as superb and totally original. It drives like a five year old Land Rover. The bulkhead, footwells and chassis are in superb condition. All of the paint is totally factory original except for refreshing the wheels. It still retains all of it's original factory fitments such as rover branded seatbelts, tool roll, jack and supplying dealer plaque.
