AC is mostly remembered for the AC Roadster from which the AC Cobra was derived, however this manufacturer has a rich history dating back to early twentieth century. AC is a very uncommon Marque to see within South Africa and this must certainly be one of few or the only Greyhound here, especially when we consider only 83 worldwide were made. Designed as a grand tourer, this series offered in a 2 plus 2 layout within a stunning coupe aluminium body. Bristol engines the norm, however a few very special Greyhounds received the larger displacement Ruddspeed-tuned Ford Zephr 2, 6lt straight six engine. !
This example has been sympathetically restored over 2yr period. The deep satin black paint shines brilliantly against the Chrome Wire Wheels. The interior has had a complete retrim with lovely soft beige leather encapsulating the 4 seats. :) With AC’s rising in value, we can’t help but feel that this Greyhound is somewhat undervalued by comparison.
