A very rare, one of 28 ever built, Bristol Beaufighter. At launch these cars were the fastest 4 seater convertible you could buy, with a top speed of 150mph and a 0-60 time of sub 6 secs, and one of the first turbo charged cars of the 1980’s.
It is Equipped with a Chrysler 5. 9 litre V8 and a rotomaster turbo charger and developing 330 bhp.
This particular car was returned to the UK last year having spent the previous 15 years in the South of France. It has recently been recommissioned at a cost of £16k by Autocar Repairs in Dulwich, a well known Bristol specialist. Work included:-
- refurbished alloys
- refurbished dash
- new brakes, calipers and discs
- new brake servo
-rebuilt carburettors
- full service
- replacement shock absorbers
- replacement fuel pipes
- new water pump
- new ball joint boots
- repair and welding to chassis and wheel arches
- new mot
This is a very sound running version, although very usable would benefit from further improvement.
