Description
1933 Austin 7 Aero engined Special
Built by myself with a little help from some friends having taken the project over from my father , completed last year just in time for the Austin 7 Centenary celebrations at Prescott . Two successful runs up the hill were completed and featured in the brochure . Father purchased the engine from the original owners grandson in Paris we have the original purchase receipt and photos of the airplane it was fitted too .
Having always hankered after something with an aero engine and this laying dormant for a few years in fathers garage we set about building it to get to the Centenary , I have since purchased another project and wish to invest my time into that so this is for sale for someone else to take on . We used a 1933 chassis and running gear which is all standard , a rebuilt 4 speed close ratio box with remote shifter , lightweight oddessy racing battery , It has a small gravity fed tank in the bulkhead that the engine runs on with a larger capacity tank in the boot area with a stirrup pump to transfer fuel for longer runs . There is also a spare wheel mounted in the boot area accessed by folding the seats forward . 2 bucket seats were custom made from cut down austin 7 seats and upholstered in brown leather . Custom stainless side exit exhausts made . The bodywork was built with Aero origins in mind using aircraft rivets and bare aluminium bodywork . Set of 5 powder coated 19" Wheels on new tyres finished it off .
The engine is a c1936 Sarolea Vautour 1100 cc flat twin , made in Belgium . A rare item in itself one of only 36 produced apparently as the firm were more commonly associated with motorcycles of which I`m led to believe have a huge following including a museum and regular events . Producing 32 hp , loads or torque and an amazing exhaust note with some further tinkering in the right hands could provide a lot of entertainment .
I have loads of photos of the build and a video of the climb at Prescott that i will happily forward to any interested parties please call or whats app Matt on the details below
I can assist with delivery within the UK and happily quote for export to your desired port .
