This car's arrival in the collection happened by luck, as our collector from Nevers told us: "The manager at the Alfa dealership in Nevers, a friend of mine, called me one day because he was offered a 164 Q4 with the engine running badly. The model was interesting and I took the risk to buy it. Eventually, we discovered that it was just a timing transmission error and once it was repaired, the car was running perfectly fine."
On the Q4 version, the 3-litre "Busso" V6 engine of 24 valves and all-wheel drive transformed this magnificent saloon car into an incredible sports machine. Having been in Alsace and the Allier before joining Nevers, this car is a fine representation of this model, serviced with care: large file of invoices since its purchase in Alsace, service in 2019 at GTA including the replacement of belts and distribution, replacement of front shock absorbers in 2019 at Stac… During a service in 2015, the mileage was at 227, 260 km compared to 230, 864 km today. The bodywork and paint are in sound condition despite the mileage. As for the interior, the equipment and glossy brown leather seats are well preserved, apart from the driver's side seat support, where the plastic is damaged and the panel came loose.
With some 1, 400 examples produced as well as its renowned road qualities, this version is rare. Its level of preservation makes it a particularly attractive car.
