Description
Its early race history is still yet to be officially proven but dependent on who you speak to it
could well be the 1976 Italian group 4 winning car that raced at Monza, Targa Florio, Imola
etc
After lots of communication from Giacomo and from Mauritzio Petrola (the son of the
original team / garage owner) Giacomo is sure its his car that was converted, the original
colour can be seen and it’s the same as the original rare green/ blue car, it was then
overpainted in white for the 77 season which can also be seen on the car today and then the
Petrola blue, Maurtizio originally believed it was the same car but now is unsure so you wil
have to make up your own minds.
It was converted into a red Barchetta by Francesco Petrola in 1978 / 1979 and continued to
race in Italy as photographed. The red paint can still be seen on the roll cage and we have
photos of it in that era racing.
In around 2008 the car was brought to the UK and sat in a private collection, over the last
few months the car has been having mechanical recommissioning to get it ready to go back
on the road for the 2023 summer.

It then went into a private collection in 2008 until I purchased it.

Mechanically restored again
This year having c. £3, 500+ spent on it to recommission it including
Brake calliper refurb by bigg red
New brake hoses, locking tabs, pins etc
New rear and mid section of exhaust (it comes with its original side exit straight thorough
one too)
Both sills treated and welded
Re wired switches
Re wired ignition
New inline fuel filters
Re instated mechanical fuel pump
Set up and tune carbs
New Coil, Distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser and battery and lots more
Timing chain (preventative)
Water pump
Not to mention the number of hours!
Comes with a folder full of paperwork including its ACI technical papers, lots of
correspondence with the original owner and builder, previous bills for headwork, water
pump etc whilst it was in the private collection.
