Description
When the new 230 SL from Mercedes-Benz was presented at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show, it was taking on a difficult legacy. It had to replace the iconic 300 SL and the 190 SL. However, the vision was of a solid, lively and comfortable two-seater. The design was initially met with mixed feelings, but the beautifully shaped roadster quickly caught on. It has always been a tradition at Mercedes to further develop model series. This is how the 250 SL evolved into the 280 SL.
Our Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster was first built in 1970, is registered in Germany and is now in third ownership. The classic car has always been maintained and has a Mercedes replaced engine. The marvellous leather interior is original. Slight damage to the right headlight has been repaired correctly. In short, a reliable Pagoda with a well-known German history and original charm.
