This is a very special motorcycle.
Oft quoted as the best motorcycle to invest in, the CBX represents the pinnacle of early 1980's motorcycling. Six cylinders, six carbs best part of 100 BHP, incredibly smooth and capable, these are magnificent motorcycles. We acquired this motorcycle around a year ago and it has taken that time to get it up to the standard you see now. We had to have a specialist rebuild the carbs as it was running but not 'quite right' . It now runs beautifully and it is very smooth and very powerful.
Prices for Honda CBX motorcycles have been rising steadily over the past few years. they have however with the current economic climate started to plateau, before we believe in time starting to rise again. it is therefore arguably a perfect time to invest in a rather large chunk of very precious metal .
From the internet
The Honda CBX 1000 Z or "twin shock" produced 105bhp at 9000rpm, 4 valves per cylinder, a bore and stroke of 64. 5 x 53. 4mm and a top speed of approximately 140 mph, arguably making it the fastest production bike of its day. It had twin front discs and a single disc at the rear with a dry weight of 249kg.. It came in Candy Glory Red and Perseus Silver with a Black option in some markets. The US/ Canadian version sported higher bars and other slight differences such as a larger alternator. The price for a new CBX/ Z in 1978/ 79 was £2750 and around 25000 CBX-Z are thought to have been produced.
