The nearly completed project includes A complete and proper bare body shell restoration & repaint in its original Phase 1 Renault Electric Blue metallic including engine bay etc. The car has also had many hours spent preparing, cleaning & treating the underside, its worth noting was extremely good pre restoration condition with no evident previous welding etc. Its also had recent metal brake pipes throughout new poly bushes, discs & pads, New track-rods & Brake callipers painted in high temp blue. The engine is stock bar the exhaust and air filter which has also been freshened up. Including gaskets, plugs, leads, distributor, oils, Clutch, cables, battery & covers and more. The Original Dimma split rim Alloys are fully restored with new Tyres & retained the Koni adjustable Suspension set up from Dimma in excellent condition. The Interior is also excellent with many new parts. Body panel alinement is prefect as is the paintwork. Attention to detail is obvious & we have painstakingly sourced so many new original parts.
We also purchased standard headlights, front grill and wing mirrors which we decided to change. This gives the car a very unique yet distinctive correlation to its big brother the 5 Turbo mid engine wide body Rally Car. Included in the sale are the Dimma twin headlights, grill & mirrors you see in picture 1 pre restoration, they are freshly painted to change back at anytime if desired.

Here we have arguably the rarest Phase 1 5 GTT on offer. 1 of 10 Factory GTT 5 Dimma with papers. The history is Mainly full Renault main dealer, with all original service book, stamps, invoices, original book packs and spare keys. It also comes with a Dimma confirmation letter certifying it as a full factory Dimma conversion including wide body, bumpers, roof spoiler & the super rare Dimma split rims and Connect Dimma black leather with blue piping and embroidered Dimma logo interior. Current mileage 67k & is HPI clear.
The Dimma conversion is more commonly associated with the Peugeot 205 Dimma and considerably more were built yet still a very rare and sought after classic Hot Hatch and an ever increasing investment. Now the 5 GT Turbo is arguably the more sought after over the 205 and this is a verified 1 of 10 Making this a very rare Hot Hatch. It has low family ownership genuine low mileage and all the history and credentials from new. This will be Auctioned with detailed pictures and description in the coming months. The price is an indication due to its desirability and condition. This 5 is right up there in the ultimate 1980 & 1990 Hot Hatch Dream list.
