We are delighted to present for sale this late Series 2a Land Rover®, finished in the rarely seen and desirable Mid Grey Colour scheme, with Limestone Wheels and Sand Canvas.
Externally, this has all the features one would hope to see ? the bonnet mounted spare, new canvas, wing-top mounted mirrors, rear grab handles, vintage number plates, etc etc. A recent bumper completes the look to really make things ?pop?, along with a set of 750 tyres to give both additional gearing over standard and that strong stance. We think the photos really speak for themselves here, and this really is a handsome vehicle indeed.
On the inside, the interior is largely standard, with 3 front standard seats, with static belts and a centre lap belt. Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. It is great to see that there is a square heater with front demist, which will come in handy during the winter months for both warmth and to prevent icing up. The features of a late 2a still survive ? the magneto indicator stalk and the later wiper set up, which was far better for clearing water and more reliable than the individual motors. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat, but could house a pair of bench seats for £595 which would allow seating for seven occupants including the driver.
Out on the road, this old girl really turns heads ? and the free wheeling hubs, 750 tyres and Weber carb enhance the driving experience over standard by increasing the gearing, improving the fuel economy and improving power for acceleration. It gives you an idea of what it would be like to own one back in the 1960s?.. whilst these additions make it easier to live with the period set up.
