This glass t-roof 1980 C3 is the actual front cover car from Tom Falconer's 1968-1982 book, a copy of which is included in the sale.
But it gets better, the car is a UK 1980 C3 from new, first registered here 7/ 11/ 80 and come with a bulging history folder as well as 31 past test certificates. The car has hardly been on the road since it's most recent test which runs to July 2024, the mileage to date still only 81, 000. We last sold this car to the most recent owner some 14 years ago and I doubt the car has done more than a couple of thou in his hands, garaged throughout.
INTERIOR. On the whole very good as we've tried to show in the pictures. Yes there's a couple of small slits to the lower edge of the driver's door card and the door weather-seals could do with replacing But that's about it, other than that she presents well.
EXTERIOR. The factory mirror glass roof panels are superb as is the bulk of the car's paintwork. The factory alloys are all fine and well shod with matching white lettered tyres. The number matching engine bay is in nice condition and the car has a stainless exhaust system throughout.
So, a rare C3, a UK 1980 from new, an ex-Claremont showroom car and heavily featured in Tom Falconer's book, both on the front cover as well as inside. It's also rare to have such a bulging history folder with a C3, let alone 31 past test certificates. It's priced to sell and would need very little to take it to the next level. The brakes have gone a little spongy through lack of use and generally the whole car is ideal for the next owner to work through ready for next year's sun. After saying that, it's a first time stater, running well with most if not all gauges working. The tyres are good, the windows work and the headlight operate as they should.
