Language allows us to express our heartfelt feelings and if you wanted one word to describe this wonderful and distinctive Aston Martin it is that it has been cherished, not just by its owners but others.

The dictionary defines the verb cherish – to love, protect and care for something that is important to you and that is exactly what the small number of owners she has had have done in her 48 years of use.

The original Service Voucher Book for this car notes simply that it was supplied to its first owner, A Pearson of Kenilworth by The Aston Martin Centre of Sutherland Avenue, Coventry. The delivery date is noted as 18th April 1975 and so began the very personal journey that the car has been on.

The original colour is noted as Cricket White, but we were contacted by a friend of that original owner who told the tale of Mr Pearson’s approach to Aston Martin with a Corgi model of the Aston Martin V8 presented in a rather fetching Emerald Green and asked if they could paint his real V8 in the same colour and they obliged! And so, she became a stunning and unique character on the Midlands motorways.

Just two years later the car was acquired by The Walford Manufacturing Company of Birmingham for the use by their Managing Director Peter Clasper. She remained in Mr. Clasper’s stewardship, transferring ownership from his company to his personal name in March 1990, until his sad demise. The Executors of his will asked Byron International to sell the car on their behalf which we did in 2013.

It came as no surprise when we were contacted by Peter Clasper’s godson – he said that the car had played an enormous part in his childhood and had been the wedding car at his parents’ wedding and he just wanted the opportunity to see the car again in the flesh – she evokes that sort of passion.

When we were asked by Peter Clasper’s Executors to market the car of course the description made it an almost ideal Aston Martin - a 1975 V8 Series III Saloon, 58, 000 miles continuous history since new, two substantial folders with old MOT's, correspondence, lots of service invoices andrarely seen, two Service Voucher books, 10 stamps in the first and two in the continuation book – and it inevitably attracted a huge amount of interest but she was clearly waiting for someone to fall in love and the current owner did just that acquiring her in January 2013, following an engineer’s report.

Since then, she has been fastidiously maintained with the owner keeping a personal log of mileages and weather conditions for all the journeys he has enjoyed. As well as the mechanical health of the car, there has been diligent repair to the sills and around the off-side chassis leg.

Recent re-acquaintance has reminded us of just how special this car is – driving as near faultlessly as she did when new, she is just waiting for the next owner to cherish her and she will repay by delivering a perfect Aston Martin ownership experience.
