Description

1976 Rolls-Royce Camargue finished in Masons Laurel with Magnolia hide interior. Just 62, 000 miles. Originally ordered in the first year of production in October 1975 via Rolls-Royce agents, Southend Motor & Aero Company by Mr M Reishid of Kinghtsbridge, London. At the time of launch the Rolls-Royce Camargue was the most expensive production car in the world, costing almost twice as much as the Silver Shadow. Each car was made to the exact specification of the customer, this example was ordered with an adjustable nearside door mirror, lightest walnut woodwork, headrests to rear seats and Green lambswool over rugs. Having had just 4 owners from new, this Camargue has resided in Kent for the last 28 years under its last two custodians. Mr Wormington of Comenden Mannor, Sissinghurst purchased the car in 1996 and had it maintained by Jack Barclay, Mayfair and latterly by marque specialists, Sergeants of Goudhurst. In 2002 the car was sold to its last owner, Mr Quinn of ‘Sintra’ East Farleigh. Mr Quinn, a keen member of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club kept the car maintained to a very high standard, Sergeants of Goudhurst continued to regularly service the car, with Royce Engineering and Shadow Motorcars also carrying out routine maintenance throughout his 21 year custodianship. Offered with an impressive history file which includes a raft paperwork comprising of invoices, maintenance records, factory build sheets, past MOT test certificates and letters to and from Rolls-Royce. Also present is the original driver’s handbook with original slip cover. Presented in exceptional condition throughout, this extremely rare motor car has been through our workshops and received a full 48, 000 mile service, and a thorough overhaul of the hydraulic systems. Just 150 Rolls-Royce Camargue’s were produced in RHD making this a rare opportunity to acquire one of Rolls-Royce’s most scarce and iconic models with its notable Pininfarina styling.
