Description
The Citroën Type C, more commonly known as the "Citroën 5 HP" or "Citroën 5 CV," was the second model of automobile designed and marketed by André Citroën between 1922 and 1926. It succeeded the 10 HP "Type A" (1919) and the 10 HP "B2" (1921), which were the first European cars to be manufactured in large series.
One of the first available colors was the pale yellow "grapefruit," earning it the nickname "Little Lemon." It was also nicknamed "Hen's Rear" due to its rear in "racing point," and then "Clover" in its Torpedo version with three seats arranged in a cloverleaf pattern. The success of this bodywork led to the improper application of the nickname "Clover" to all models of the 5 HP.
This superb Citroën 5CV, emblematic of the chevron brand, comes from a private collection. It stands out for its exceptional presentation condition, with a restoration carried out in a concours spirit. It promises to make a sensation during its next outings and participations in elegance competitions.
