We are very pleased to offer an awesome and legendary 1968 Ford Escort MK1. RS 2000 Recreation. If you are already reading this advert then you will already have a passion for these amazing cars and you will also be able to fully appreciate its condition and high level of build quality, it really is a credit to its creator. Finished in Ford Olympic blue with contrasting decals, a genuine set of 5. 5 inch RS four spoke alloys and that menacing set of Cibie Iode spot lights. It is packed with many period correct features and also some very useful extras that culminates into one very exciting car.
On the road this MK1 has a very special feel. The Pinto engine has been bored to 2. 1 and it features a high lift cam, but the real attraction is that brand new set of Weber 45's that give this car a real bark. It starts and settles very quickly with strong oil pressure. It benefits from having servo operated disc brakes which is the correct RS item and a five speed gearbox with a Quick shift. It has instant power and instant noise with an instant buzz thrown in for good measure. The suspension has all been uprated with Bilstein shocks and t also has a quick rack. It benefits from being fully set and tuned at Aldon automotive so it is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
The interior is finished to a very high standard and features the correct RS front seats that are in as new condition, RS six dial dash with the correct RS steering wheel. The rest is all in excellent condition including door cards, roof liner and carpets.
The Escort has a super solid shell and has been built to a high standard and it is in the ready to show category but more importantly ready to be driven and enjoyed. It is body coloured on the underside and inside all four wheel arches. The floor pans are also body coloured. The boot is well detailed and the engine bay is a thing of beauty.
