This pretty Meissen blue 356 A is an absolute peach!

Beautifully presented, appealing on all levels; the way it looks, the way it drives, it’s a very useable classic, perfect for touring, shows and events.

It is fully prepared; all the time consuming and expensive work is already done, so you can enjoy it immediately.

Originally supplied in the USA in the Summer of 1957, it came to the UK in July 1991.

With its most recent owner for the last 16 years, this 356 has seen extensive investment and refurbishment, with invoices for many thousands of pounds worth of work during this time.

Significantly, the floor pans and associated structures were renewed in 2017, followed by a comprehensive, £15, 000 engine build in 2019 (approx. 4, 500 miles ago), all carried out here in the Williams Crawford Restoration Department.

New, soft black leather seat covers, with matching dash roll and door cards, were fitted in early 2022, offering a contrast to the Biscuit square weave carpets.

This 356 then underwent a 9 months-long, £35, 000+ bodywork restoration and repaint by marque specialists, Sportwagen Ltd. The full details of this process were photographically recorded, and memory sticks containing all the images are included in the history file.

Just 300 or so miles ago, Maxted-Page and Prill carried out a meticulous ‘once-over’, ensuring this 356 is ready for action.

The history suggests it has seen a couple of colour changes, from its factory silver metallic, to grey, and now period correct Meissen blue (Reutter code 703).

A T1, manufactured in July 1957, shortly before the T2 changes. The engine is a correct, Type 616/ 6, air cooled 1, 571cc 4 cylinder, from 1957.
