Description
1979 Mercedes 450SE
This car has been in a garage for the last 13 years or so. It has been in the same family ownership for 40 years. There are areas or corrosion around the car. The areas where this is more significant are the rear front inner wings and the driver's door. The other areas are surface bubbling around the car along with surface rust on the underside. The sills are generally good apart from the front where they meet the wings. The engine has been run on an external fuel source only, but it starts quickly and shows excellent oil pressure. The interior was subject to new leather in the late 90s and the car has had little use since then so all of the seats remain in excellent condition. There is a crack on the top of the dashboard. The car needs full restoration including bodywork and at the very least a full recommission of brakes, fuel lines etc. The engine has done approximately 121, 000 miles. The history file includes some old MOT certificates from the 90s along with some miscellaneous invoices and two workshop manuals. This car can certainly be saved and for someone with the right skill set there is plenty of opportunity to add value given what good examples of this sought after model now command.
