1928 Invicta 4. 5L High Chassis LC-Type Registration: UK registered Chassis number: LC253 Engine number: 6861/ 12179 FIVA card The LC Invicta was one of the most visually striking sports cars of its time. It is renowned not only for its impressive performance, but also for the many records it has set. Many of these records were achieved by the famous female racing driver Violet Cordery, including the remarkable feat of rounding the UK in first gear. This exceptional car features a lightweight body and a robust 4. 5-litre Meadows engine. This contemporary non-supercharged engine surprises with its incredible smoothness and tremendous power. It's worth noting that this particular model is fitted with an even more powerful and efficient engine, and has proved to be a highly competitive racing car from the outset. Invicta rightly gained a formidable reputation on pre-war British circuits and although there is not much information available on this particular car prior to 1984, records from the time suggest that it had a racing history dating back to the 1930s. In 1932, a car similar to chassis LC 253 competed in the Brooklands Mountain Championship, where driver Dudley Froy piloted a slightly later model to a respectable fourth place in the 1932 race at Brooklands. For classic car enthusiasts, the Mille Miglia is an event not to be missed. This Invicta took part in the Mille Miglia in 1991, 1994, 1995 and 1996, finishing the race successfully on all occasions except 1991. After numerous international rallies and races, this car underwent a complete restoration that cost the astronomical sum of 400, 000 euros. Every part of the vehicle has been meticulously restored to perfection. As the accompanying photos show, the car is a true masterpiece in every detail, a testament to the meticulous work and attention to detail of a team of skilled engineers.
