This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025 on Sunday the 16th of February, Excel London, Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL.
The R80ST was designed to fill the gap between the R80RT road bike and the R80GS adventure bike offering the best of both worlds
The bike was only in BMWs line up for the 1983 and 1984 seasons, making it one of the lowest production runs for any BMW motorcycle with less than 6, 000 units produced
This well presented example has been subject to a recent restoration and is sporting the BMW Motorsport colours of the Paris-Dakar race team of the same era
The engine was rebuilt during the restoration including an unleaded conversion (valves, valve guides and seats)
Whilst the engine was apart, the opportunity was taken to port and gasflow the cylinder heads for improved performance
The bike is supplied with a dual seat and some spares
