I'm selling my Yamaha XJ 400 from April 1981, very good condition, 58, 500 kms, registration papers in order and in my name (the CT will of course be passed before the sale). The engine has been partly rebuilt at 50, 000 kms (pistons, timing chain, all engine seals changed, new and Japanese intake pipes, inspection of various parts such as clutch, gearbox, etc.). The carburettor diaphragms have been changed, carburettor adjustment and synchronisation done.
We also changed the cylinder head gasket, checked the cylinder head tightness, fitted new steering column bearings, brake caliper piston seals and brake pads). The chassis is also in very good condition, with nothing to report (original Yamaha shock absorbers changed, spinnaker seals and fork oil changed). Other work and parts changed: Spark plugs, air filter, passenger grab bar, original indicators and mirrors found and fitted, etc. It is sold with its decoration (Kenny Roberts style), a very large job having been done on the tank.
EVERYTHING is original, apart from the colour and the Marshall 4-in-1, which is in excellent condition. It hasn't been ridden for four months, a new battery will be fitted next week to get it back on the road, and the MOT will be passed in the meantime. Price: €2, 500. ONLINE AD = BIKE AVAILABLE.
