Description
The Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 is an automotive icon that has marked the history of the British car industry. Produced between 1971 and 1975, this version of the famous E-Type was distinguished primarily by its 5. 3-litre V12 engine, a first for Jaguar in a road car. When Jaguar launched the E-Type in 1961, it was immediately hailed for its elegant design and impressive performance. However, as the years went by, regulations changed and competition became increasingly tough. In response to these challenges, Jaguar introduced the 3 Series in 1971, a revised and modernised version of the E-Type. The main innovation of this new series was its V12 engine, which developed 272 bhp and offered a smoother, more powerful ride than previous models. This engine enables the car to reach a top speed of 240 km/ h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/ h in around 6. 4 seconds. In addition to the engine, other changes have been made to the 3 Series. The chassis has been strengthened, power steering is now standard, and the suspension has been improved to offer greater driving comfort. Visually, the car adopted a wider grille, wider wheel arches to accommodate larger tyres, and twin tailpipes. The Jaguar E-Type 3 Series V12 was available in two versions: the 2+2 coupé and the roadster. The latter configuration was a great success, thanks to its racy looks and its open-air driving pleasure. This model is an American version with an automatic gearbox. The 4 Zenith carburettors and their complex pollution control system have been replaced by 6 twin-barrel carburettors! An incredible sound, and what a shape for this Jaguar V12. A must-see!
