The 500 SLC was launched in 1980 as the successor to the 450 SLC 5. 0.
It differed from its predecessor only in details, the biggest difference being the 4-speed automatic transmission instead of the 3-speed.
Mercedes built a total of 1, 154 units between April 1980 and June 1981, around 20% of which were racing cars.
Very successful in motorsport, the Rally 107s quickly reached legendary status.
Our vehicle was delivered new in August 1980 by Fahrzeug Werke Lueg GmbH in Bochum and ran for the first few years in Herten, North Rhine-Westphalia.
It was later registered in Grünwald near Munich and has been in current ownership for around 10 years.
Maintenance booklet incl. original data card is available.
To date, the 500 SLC has only travelled 107, 951 km. The engine is still the first one, i. e. ‘matching numbers’.
