1998 Lotus Elise S1 finished in stunning calypso red over black hide interior. A two-owner car from new with only 19, 650 miles.
An extremely rare and sought after ‘early build’ Elise, this car is fitted with the highly prized MMC brake discs, aluminium engine cover and green bonded chassis.
Supplied new by Lotus main dealers Motorway Sports Cars, the original sales invoice shows the car was sold to its first owner on the 2nd May 1998 for the sum of £23, 159 including the factory options of alarm system, radio fitting kit, driving lamps and leather seats.
The current fastidious owner purchased the car on the 22nd November 2009 at which time the car had covered 17, 059 miles. During his stewardship the car has been cherished, garaged and used lightly having covered only 2600 miles in the past 16 years, and therefore remains in genuinely superb condition and is completely factory standard with the exception of a sports exhaust, however the standard exhaust is supplied with the car.
The bodywork is in first class order with only the smallest of stone chips giving credence to the mileage covered, whilst the fibreglass bodywork remains totally free from osmosis, damage or star cracks. The interior is in equally fine order with only some natural patina to the black leather seats giving any indication that the car has just passed its 28th birthday.
Accompanying the cars original book pack is a file full of original receipts including the most recent invoice from Hangar 111 who carried out a C Service including cambelt approximately 200 miles ago. It also contains MOT certificates dating back to 2001. Both keys and alarm remote controls are also present with the supplying dealers key ring still attached to the spare set.
Before delivery to its next owner the car will receive a B service in our workshop, a new MOT and lastly a new set of tyres fitted as the existing set, whilst unworn, are now out of date.
