Description
- Under 7, 500 miles and 1 owner/ builder
- Full factory supplied kit using all new parts
- Correctly registered as a new car at time of build
- 155bhp 1800cc Zetec on throttle bodies with independent rear and LSD
Built in early 2000 by its only owner (an enthusiast who also raced a Lotus Cortina among others) and correctly registered as a new car on a W plate in June 2000.
The Speedsport 1800 was a fully comprehensive build package using all new parts and quite a high road biased specification with Jenver throttle bodies and MBE programmable ECU using a base Zetec 1800 engine. Factory output was stated as being 155bhp. Independent rear suspension and the vital (for me anyway…) wide body option, proper seats on runners and a heater were all included. Specified in timeless BRG (gel coat not painted) with tan interior and weather equipment with tan/ green seats. Options over the ‘base’ Speedsport 1800 included the Chrome pack (roll bar and alloy finished windscreen surround) and an LSD.
Now 25 years old but with only 7, 200 miles (though that is increasing…) the car remains as built with a few very minor scars and slightly faded carpets. Unmarked wheels, undamaged weather gear and looks great.
Recent MoT (until May 2026) and service.
2 lever arch files including all build manuals and build receipts, subsequent history and even its tax discs. 2 sets of keys and a couple of spare badges.
