Lancia Ardennes Coupé by Marcel Pourtout (1937) One-of-a-kind model - Exceptional hand-built vehicle Rohmer Youngtimers Selection is honoured to offer a rare, prestigious and one-of-a-kind vehicle: this Lancia Ardennes Coupé, hand-built by master French coachbuilder Marcel Pourtout. A masterpiece of motoring by Pourtout This pre-war coupé is the only known example built by Marcel Pourtout on a Lancia Ardennes base. At the time, the coachbuilder produced 32 convertibles on this base, but only one coupé was ever built. This is therefore a unique model, listed and exhibited at the Art et Élégance event at the Château de Chantilly in 2017, where Pourtout's work was celebrated.

A veritable technical revolution for its time, it featured aerodynamic bodywork, front doors with no central pillar, and a lightweight aluminium engine. Vincenzo Lancia himself insisted on 4-wheel independent suspension, to provide unprecedented roadholding. Because of prohibitive customs duties, the French version was produced directly in France and renamed "Ardennes", in homage to its place of production. Despite its many qualities, it remained in the shadow of the Citroën Traction on the French market, but forged a legendary aura among enthusiasts. History of this car Discovered in the 1990s as a bare chassis, this Lancia was rebuilt with period Pourtout bodywork, unique in this coupé configuration. Fully restored, it is now in irreproachable condition, both mechanically and visually.
