INTRODUCTION
Pininfarina’s original design, which was still both attractive and elegant, was revised to further improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the 308 models.
The 328 GTB model, together with the targa roof 328 GTS variant, were the final developments of the normally aspirated transverse V8 engine 2 seat series. The 328 figures in the model title referred to the total cubic capacity of the engine, 3. 2 litres, and 8 for the number of cylinders. This new engine (again featuring four valves per cylinder) produced a specific output of 85 bhp per litre, compared with 82 for the 4-valve version of the 308.
Chassis 55239 (GTB prototype) and 55241 (GTS prototype) debuted at the Frankfurt Autosalon in September 1985.
Of the 328 GTB, only 1344 cars were built!
PROVENANCE
This specific 328 GTB, chassis 79211 left the Maranello factory on 31-10-1988 and was delivered via Auto Becker in Dusseldorf to its first owner on 03-08-1989. The car was ordered in Rosso Corsa with Nero interior as it resides today. The car has been well maintained and was even recently Ferrari Classiche Certified, which confirms its authenticity. The car comes with an extensive history, Ferrari Classiche Certificate, Battery Charger, and its original pouch and books.
