Description

Produced for almost 40 years (!), the Citroën 2 CV was launched after the war, in 1948. It was supposed to be launched much earlier to meet a major need for mobility, but the German occupation decided otherwise. Until 1988, it was produced in France, before ending production in 1990, when the last cars were made in Portugal. In all, almost 9 million (!) Citroën 2 CVs and variants, such as the Méhari and the Dyane, were produced! That's an enormous number of cars, but also a model that remained in production for so long. Of course, several versions of the Citroën 2CV were produced, including this version, the Charleston, which was intended to be the most stylish, with real seats rather than a bench in front. Introduced in 1980, it ended the 2CV's career in 1990.

NYC's/ OXOTO is offering for sale a black and burgundy example with a light grey interior and 5, 641 km on the clock. Delivered new in Belgium in January 1983, it was purchased at the end of 1992 by an independent official Citroën garage in Brussels. We still have the purchase invoice and the registration certificate from January 1993! Like many 2CVs, the chassis had to be replaced by a new one, which was done in February 1993 (certificate to support this). This 2CV Charleston has remained in the same family ever since, and the son of the 2nd owner registered it in 2019.

The bodywork looks great, with absolutely nothing to complain about: no dents, no scratches, and no corrosion. It must be said that it has remained in the private collection of this Citroën specialist, preserved like a bottle of wine (no pun intended on the colours).

The soft top is also impeccable, both inside and out. The interior is just as excellent, whether it's the seats, dashboard or door interiors, everything is in perfect condition... As for the mechanics, we unfortunately don't have any maintenance invoices, which is logical, given that the owner took care of everything himself. Before entrusting it to NYC's, he made sure that everything was in order for the future new owner of this museum piece.

The latest roadworthiness report dated May 2022 (5, 444 km odometer) does not mention any technical remarks on this beautiful 2 CV Charleston.

A bridge is available on our premises to show you the underside of the vehicle.
