Golf GTI Oettinger from March 1982 in anthracite black colour LP9V.
This Golf has been restored since its purchase in 2016; its mechanicals were tired with its original 192, 000 kilometres.
A decision was taken for a complete mechanical restoration followed by a full restoration of the car, interior, running gear; all renovations are of high quality, epoxy, bichromating of screws and parts, etc... the paintwork was poorly executed after a colour change in 1998 (originally white).
The engine, after diagnosis, had a defective cylinder head and a cracked block.
A rebuilt engine with a genuine EG block STD from H Foundry and a period-correct new cylinder head was found.
Balanced assembly, Wossner forged pistons.
Gearbox rebuilt, bearings, synchromesh, seals.
Therefore not matching numbers, I have the original parts.
I am the 5th owner since its arrival in March 82 at the VW dealership in TARNOS (64).
The whole set has just come out of a rigorous 3, 000 km break-in and a rolling road test. It runs perfectly and reaches its factory-rated top speed.
I won’t go into Golf I enthusiasts’ history of this model here; they know the history of these models well, and while some may find them pricey they are special and deserve to be appreciated for their exclusivity.
It is sold below its cost price; I am a recently retired person and cannot reasonably keep it...
