Description

Aston Martin DBS V8 1972 automatic, matching numbers.

Magnificent DBS V8 Series 2. Chassis 10398 was delivered new on 1 July 1972, and it is among the rare 288 Series 2 examples built.

Our beauty shows only 70, 500 miles on the odometer and has been pampered for many years by a Swedish collector. Its original colour, Ascot Grey, pairs perfectly with its fully preserved original interior in leather of a superb Dark Blue lineage. The 90° V8, 5. 4-litre Bosch fuel-injected twin-cam develops 320 horsepower, making it a true supercar of its era.

In the eyes of purists, this Aston Martin is the most refined of the DBS, with chromed bumpers without overriders and, above all, the iconic grille.

This elegant car will be supplied with an insured valuation report as well as its history file and birth certificate.

Featured in the TV series “The Persuaders!” the Aston Martin DBS V8 was the car driven by Sir Roger Moore and, it also appeared on screen in the sixth James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”

Named to replace the DB6 in 1967 and designed by the Milanese coachbuilder Touring, the same outfit that penned the DB6 lines, this Fastback coupé is pure class, a sign of elegance and refinement. It was fitted with a 6-cylinder engine at launch before receiving a V8 in 1970. A genuine artisan-built vehicle, the new model cost more than the rival Ferrari Daytona, despite its 12 cylinders.

For history, it was one of the last models supervised by Sir David Brown. DBS stands for David Brown Sports.

Fully serviced and air-conditioned, it will delight its occupants on long bucolic drives between castles and fine-dining restaurants.
