Really good value for money MG soft top ready to drive away, use it every day or keep it for the weekends, this car has been used by us since Spring and we have completed over 1600 problem free and great fun miles, we are very impressed with it, this is an awful lot of fun car for under two and half grand
First registered in February 2004 it has MOT until 17th March next year with no advisories, just 36163 miles backed up by a full service history, purchase invoices and MOT’s, last owner for 13 years who stored it from 2017 to 2025, hence low miles with services recorded at 13127 / 17400 / 25985 / 29364 / 30818 / 32712 / 33966 and 34652 miles, last one in April this year, its HPI clear with a printed report. We have the current logbook in our name, an older logbook, the handbook / service book, both original keys and a selection of invoices and old MOT’s.
This is the 1. 6lt petrol engine, manual 5 speed gearbox “Cool Blue” edition with an immaculate two-tone interior, remote locking, elec windows, front driving lights, unmarked alloy wheels all with excellent tyres, manual folding roof with optional wind deflector and the often missing hood down cover, full size spare and tools included.
It starts, runs and drives very well, see the YouTube demo video, it’s tight as drum, no vagueness and very responsive, all the fun of vintage soft top MG in a more modern and very usable package, the little wind deflector behind the headrest really protects you from buffeting and the heaters good enough to keep you suitable warm with the hood down on any fine day.
Everything is working as it should, central locking with two keys, fancy Kenwood stereo with speakers behind the seats, it’s very well presented throughout, minor imperfections will be found on close very inspection but this is one of the tidiest TF’s we’ve ever seen, in the boot, the engine bay and under the front bonnet are all very clean and in tip top condition, any test, trail or inspection encouraged and welcomed, we have tried to show the underside with a few pictures, nothing to hide, nothing hidden.
Oil is fresh and clean and the coolant is crystal clear with the correct pink antifreeze, no head gasket issues or obvious problems of any kind, never missed a beat or failed to start in the last 1600 miles, the 115bhp engine is cheap to run and ECO friendly, its ULEZ compliant so you can drive it into the London and all other UK low emission zones free of charge.
Whoever buys this will be delighted, we will be sorry to see it go buy have too many toys, its huge value for money, not so long ago you could pick these up for pennies, but now the trade and collectors have woken up to what a little gem’s they are and prices are rising quickly, currently still amazing good value. Plenty of specialist supplying aftermarket parts and mechanics are shared with many Rover models with parts available off the shelf.
Have a bit of fun on your way to work and tear up and down some country lanes at the weekend, it’s less money than an equivalent Ford Fiesta and 10 times more enjoyable.
