Exceptional 2001 registered Jaguar XJ8 4. 0 Automatic finished in rare option Black Metallic Coachwork with contrasting Oatmeal Leather, Antelope upper dashboard / door trims and Cinamon Carpets. I have owned, driven and sold many XJ8s over the years and I do not recall ever having another example with such remarkable bodywork. The paintwork is stunning with no dull patches, crazed paint, lacquer peel, poor repairs or indeed anything unsightly whatsoever. The body panels are lovely and straight with a deep gloss and shine to the paintwork. The chrome work is in wonderful order, as are the arches and sills. What an outstanding vehicle and extremely good looking from every angle. The interior is a lovely place to be with no rips, tears or holes to the upholstery or carpets. The driver seat has the expected wear marks in the leather, but this is in keeping with the cars charm and vintage. No evidence of children, pets, damp or smoke, remarkably this XJ still smells very new! Importantly this car has had very few owners, has covered minimal mileage and has comprehensive service history, essential if you want a reliable XJ from this period. This is a unique opportunity to acquire such a vehicle at a very reasonable price, considering its CAT D insurance loss history. A Cat D car is deemed too expensive to repair by the insurer, often when the repair cost exceeds just 50% of the car's value. Knowing the cost for new Jaguar main dealer supplied parts, this was likely minimal damage. The repairer at the time have done a marvellous job, as with our trained and experienced eyes, nothing is notable on the car as it stands today. The Insurance loss was recorded over a decade ago in the early part of 2014, the car then passed its MOT later the same year with just one advisory for a headlamp adjustment.
