This attractive Mini Cooper Sportspack was originally supplied by Fairhead & Sawyer Rover, Ipswich on 18th September 1998 and is presented in iconic British Racing Green, over a 'Monaco' stone beige and black leatherette interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Specification features include a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, 13-inch alloy wheels, a leather-bound steering wheel and gear knob, a burr walnut dashboard and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials.
This example has covered 54, 439 miles from new and presents extremely well. It has been in the care of an enthusiast for the past five years, during which time it was driven sparingly, meticulously maintained and garage stored when not in use. The British Racing Green paintwork exhibits a deep, glossy finish, with panels that appear flush and straight. Body-coloured vented sills are present both sides, and the chassis number is etched into both the front and rear screens. The chromework and trim are in excellent condition, as are all four alloy wheels. The car retains its original supplying dealer sticker and number plates, which is rare to see.
Inside, the cabin is equally impressive, with no visible tears to the seats or headlining. The original Mini-branded radio/ cassette remains in situ and the burr walnut dashboard is in excellent condition, showing no signs of cracking, fading or delamination. The leather-bound steering wheel and gear knob display a gentle, characterful patina, while the rear seats appear barely used.
On the road, this Mini is great fun to drive. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine feels lively and responsive, pulling cleanly through all four gears with smooth, precise changes.
The Mini is sold newly serviced and MOT'd, and is accompanied by two sets of keys and a comprehensive history file dating back the point of first registration. This includes the original stamped service book and a complete MOT history record.
