Chevrolet was founded in Detroit in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet, a Swiss race car driver. With William C. Durant, co-founder of General Motors, he launched the Chevrolet brand.
Durant used Chevrolet to regain control of General Motors, after having been ousted from it.
Chevrolet aimed to be an affordable and reliable car, capable of competing directly with the Ford Model T. The brand positioned itself as slightly more luxurious and technically more advanced than Ford.
The AD Series went into production just before the 1929 stock market crash. Up to then, Chevrolet had produced only four-cylinder cars, while Ford sold substantial quantities of the Model A. Chevrolet's solution was to develop a six-cylinder engine at the price of a four-cylinder.
Other makes also offered six-cylinder cars, but these were considerably more expensive. Chevrolet, by contrast, was affordable, reliable, powerful and easy to drive.
This model was produced from 1929 to 1930. About 1, 050, 000 examples of the AD Series were built. This vehicle bears chassis number 1010741.

This Chevrolet is of Belgian origin. The previous owner held the car for about twenty years and bought it in the same condition. The previous Belgian owner had it fully restored and refurbished the interior.
The Chevrolet starts, drives and shifts gears perfectly. All functions are operational, including headlights and indicators. Moreover, the car is in superb condition and it is evident it has always been cherished.
