Description
1931 Bentley 4-Litre 'Blower'. The Bentley 4-Litre is one of the rarest Bentley models produced under the direction of W. O. Bentley before the Rolls-Royce takeover in 1931. Only fifty 4-Litre cars were built, and this example is a rare survivor. In 2017, the car was completely disassembled by Altena Classic Service and improved without affecting the original patina. The 3915 cc Bentley inline six-cylinder engine was overhauled, and a perfectly functioning Marchal supercharger (blower) was installed. All other mechanical components were inspected, restored, and overhauled by Altena Classic Service. View the 2017 photo report for an impression of the work carried out on the car. The rear axle was overhauled, new drum brakes were made, a new steering column and steering box were installed, and new wire wheels were fitted. The car is equipped with twin SU Carburettors (mounted on the blower), twin SU fuel pumps, and wire wheels with Blockley 6. 50 x 19-inch tires. The original bench seat (upholstered in dark red leather) has been replaced by two bucket seats upholstered in green leather. The bench seat is included with the car. Finished in dark British Racing Green and with a patina of over 80 years, this mighty Bentley 4-liter 'blower' looks impressively original. Since the mechanical/ technical overhauls in our workshop, the owner has participated in several long-distance rallies with the car, such as the 2021 Gran Premio Nuvolari. In 2024, the owner took the Bentley on a long trip through France. The Bentley has proven to be a robust and reliable companion! This beautiful vintage Bentley is a well-known appearance in the Dutch and European 'vintage car' and rally world. The car has been perfectly maintained in our workshop since 2017 and is ready for many exciting adventures in the hands of a modern-day 'Bentley Boy'!
