Debuting at the 1992 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Ferrari 512 TR gave the Testarossa - Ferrari's flat-twelve-powered 1980s heart throb-a fresh look for the new decade. The 512TR sported new front and rear bumpers, revised louvres on the engine lid, and new wheels, but it was far more than a mere facelift. The Tipo F113 D flat-12 was extensively reworked with Bosch engine management, new air intake system, new exhaust, and more. The result was a more contemporary power output of 422 PS and 491 Nm of torque through a revised five-speed gated manual transmission. Its chassis was massaged to increase torsional rigidity by 13-percent and improve weight distribution. The engine and transmission were now mounted lower, and combined with a lower ride height, further enhanced handling. The interior was also redesigned, featuring a new center console, dashboard, steering wheel, door panels, and seats.
This 1992 Ferrari 512 TR is finished in Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather interior. The 512 TR was delivered new by Ferrari Deutschland in December 1992 and remained in Germany under original ownership until it was imported to France in the early 2000s. It stayed in the country in the care of a single private owner for the next 18 years, notably receiving an extensive mechanical refresh in May 2021 from Ferrari and Maserati specialists Meca-Passion in Normandie totaling €35. 000. This meticulous refresh included an engine-out service to replace the timing belt and tensioner, camshaft, thermostat, running gear, and as well as many additional seals, gaskets, belts, and hoses. Furthermore, the suspension received new shock absorber bushings along with a new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. The Uppsala County, Sweden-based consignor acquired this example in 2023, immediately performed a comprehensive mechanical inspection, and subsequently commissioned Italian exotic car specialists EB AUTO to address issues identified during the review with a significant service in October 2025. This expansive service totaling €6. 108 included an exhaust system refit, oil change, brake fluid change, and replacement of the oil sump, oil pump, and oil pan gasket.
