Chassis No. SA9AER0MAX48M0026
The Morgan AeroMax marked one of the most ambitious and expressive chapters in the marque's modern history. Originally conceived as a bespoke, one-off commission for Prince Eric Sturdza of Banque Baring Sturdza, Morgan's chief backer at the time, the unique rendition of the Morgan Aero 8 was first shown off at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show-unsurprisingly to great critical acclaim! The car generated such overwhelming interest that Morgan, with the Prince of Sturdza's blessing, committed to a limited production run. Just 100 examples of the AeroMax were planned, built in part to celebrate Morgan Motor Company's centenary. It was the first Morgan model to retail above £100, 000, signaling Morgan's confident step into a new, more premium market.
Stylistically, the AeroMax blended Morgan's signature design language with bold external influences, drawing on Art Deco themes and elegantly integrating the iconic split rear window from the Bugatti Atlantic. Distinctive details such as unique rear bodywork, flush-fit doors, and elevated interior finishes set it apart from the standard Aero 8. Power came from a BMW-sourced 4. 8-liter V8 producing 367 PS, paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, hidden within its unmistakably hand-crafted form.
This 2009 Morgan AeroMax is the 26th example produced and has been tastefully specified in Spa Silver over a Light Tan interior, with Tawny Ash wood stain and Brown Quilted stitching. It is equipped with the desirable manual transmission, and its list of factory options further includes parking sensors, side exit exhaust, speaker upgrade with subwoofer, Paint Protection Film, fitted indoor car cover, and photographic build record.
This charmingly-specified 2009 Morgan AeroMax was built for its sole owner through Morgan Motor Company France. According to the included French registration documents, the Aeromax was first registered in Paris in March 2009, remaining there with its original owner and carefully preserved within an extensive collection of equally rare exotic cars. Here it was carefully maintained by the collection's in-house mechanic, with service records on file confirming consistent maintenance from new. This example was most recently serviced in December 2024, which included an engine oil change, fluid level check, and brake inspection.
Offered now with just 3, 750 kilometers at cataloging, it is furnished with its original Owner's Handbook & Warranty Information book, Becker stereo documentation, and tools in Morgan-branded pouch, as well as a copy of its build sheet, French registration, and service records on file and available to review.
This 2009 Morgan AeroMax is undoubtedly a standout example of Morgan's rare and desirable model: exquisitely tailored from the factory and preserved with impressively low mileage under single private ownership from new. As such, it is a distinguished addition to any serious collection-equally suited to admired stewardship or to taking center stage on the lawn at the world's most prestigious British car gatherings.
