For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This original paint 911 Carrera is one of those offerings!
History:
The Porsche type 993, is the fourth generation of the 911 model, manufactured and sold between 1994 and 1998 (model years 1995–1998 in the United States), replacing the 911, type 964. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled 911 models.
The 993 was much improved over and quite different from its predecessor. According to Porsche, every part of the car was designed from the ground up, including the engine and only 20% of its parts were carried over from the prior 911. Porsche refers to the 993 as “a significant advance, not just from a technical, but also a visual perspective.”
The external design of the Porsche 993 was penned by English designer Tony Hatter. It retained the core cabin and body shell architecture of the 964 and prior 911 model iterations, but exterior panels were revised with much more flared wheel arches, a smoother front and rear bumper design, an enlarged retractable rear wing, and teardrop shaped mirrors.
Most experts agree, the 993 is the technologically most advanced Porsche 911 and of course being the last of the air-cooled models, collectors take notice. Prices for well sorted 993 are on the rise.
This car:
Our car on offer is a four owner C2 993 Sunroof Coupe with a 6 speed manual transmission finished in rare Glacier White (L3 AU) with contrasting classic tan leather interior. A rare and stunning color combination.
The car presents extremely nice and still wears 100% of its original paint on laser straight body panels. The whole front of the car is wrapped in paint protection film.
The tan leather interior is extremely well preserved and shows almost perfect with only the slightest signs of wear. The dash is without any damage and all dials are in perfect working order. Door panels, carpets and headliner are flawless.
This 911 sits on freshly refinished genuine Porsche 18” Turbo twist style rims wrapped in Michelin Pilots Sport 4S from 2022/ 23 and in very good condition.
Mechanically, the car appears sound and very strong. It runs extremely powerful through all gears and makes all the right noises thanks to the Porsche Motor sound option (159). Handling and braking is superb.
All 4 owners took perfect care of the car and addressed anything in need over the years. We have a complete folder of service records back to the original owner. Service and maintenance included among other things:
44k miles: The car has received a top end rebuild by Brumos Porsche.
78k miles: The transmission was overhauled with bearings and steel synchros, a GT shift fork and a Porsche Motorsport 40/ 60 limited slip was installed.
84k miles: Engine mounts, injectors.
88k miles: New clutch and dual mass flywheel.
90k miles: Brake calipers rebuild.
92k miles, AC serviced, spark plugs at Brumos
100k miles: full oil and filter service and fresh California smog certification.
