The V1000 I‑Convert produced by Moto Guzzi between ** 1975 and 1984**, was born from the idea of Lino Tonti, at the request of Alejandro de Tomaso, owner of Guzzi. The idea was a maxi‑moto grand tourer that would feature an automatic/ semi‑automatic transmission, to offer comfort, ease of use and to stand out in the market for large‑displacement machines. Considered the flagship of the Guzzi range by displacement and equipment, it was adopted by the Italian ** Corazzieri** in service during the 1970s and 1980s. During institutional parades, this two‑wheeled milestone in the history of motorcycling accompanied the car of the President of the Italian Republic. A notable feature was its speed. First gear allowed lower speeds suitable for parades, while second gear enabled reaching about 180 km/ h. Its reliability and its unique characteristics still make it a model of historical and technical interest today.
