1950 Morgan series 1 4/ 4 4-seater Flat rad.
A lovely red with black 1950 series 1 flat rad that has been in the same family ownership for around 40 years!
Fitted with the 1267cc Standard special engine these were very usable little post war cars.
This particular example has been off the road for couple of years so would benefit from some light recommissioning work. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt some years ago, but the car has only travelled around 5000 miles since and it has been dry stored.
The chassis is more or less rust free but does have some welded repair patches and the wooden frame appears to be in good order and was replaced at its last rebuild in the mid-80s.
The body work could do with some TLC and has been hand painted, but it is generally rust free and perfectly usable.
More recently the wheels were completely refurbished and fitted with almost unworn Avon Tourists, the radiator was completely refurbished around 2 years ago (cost around £3500) and new front lights were fitted; the rest of the chrome is very serviceable.
The dynamo and carbs were rebuilt 3 years ago; it had a new fuse box fitted and the mechanical fuel pump was by passed and an electric pump fitted.
There are some lovely old bits of paperwork in the history file, including an original lubrication chart, Standard instruction book, modern V5c and an original Morgan 4/ 4 owner’s handbook.
It also has a raft of spare parts including 2 spare sets of wheels, gasket sets, lights, plugs etc…
Priced at just £13, 500 This will make a lovely light project for somebody, it really wont take much to make this a very usable vehicle again.
