Description
First registered on the 1st of March 1958, as a two door Saloon colour blue with registration number OFN 715.
This Austin had three owners prior to 1990 when it was acquired by a Finnish family residing in the UK at the time. The current owner purchased the car from this family in 2003 and decided he would undertake a full restoration and conversion to provide a very sporty Café racer style A35
inspired by the HRDC Academy modified race cars that were racing at places such as Goodwood.
Whilst the project was not a priority the work was conducted carefully and finally completed ni 2016. The Austin has had extraordinarily little use since
hence the reason it is for sale.
The work is too numerous to list in this description, but the fundamental areas of the work are as follows.
Bodywork stripped, repaired, and repainted. Full Academy suspension upgrade including new dampers, brakes upgraded, all supplied by Moto
build Ltd, Rebuilt rear differential to racing spec, gearbox overhauled, Stainless side exit exhaust, new minilite alloy wheels and tyres.
Interior retrimmed with new carpets, headlining and parcel- shelf, new Cobra bucket seats, extra dash binnacle with additional gauges.
Engine is a 1275cc Cooper S engine fully rebuilt to the highest standards running a single Weber 40 Carburettor.
A very long list of parts were supplied by Bull Motif Spares Ltd such as fuel tank with sender and electric fuel pump, stainless steel bumpers and overriders, new lights, door handles, badges, door and window rubbers,
seat belts, sun visors, indicators etc. etc.
The cars performance with its 1275cc engine is extremely impressive and is fabulous fun to drive.
An amazing car for sale at a fraction of the build cost.
