Description
The ninth generation of Cadillac’s Eldorado was introduced in 1971 to notably be described by General Motors as the ‘last American convertible’. Even though production continued beyond to several other Eldorado generations, this one established the US automobile industry’s school of oversized but sleek powerful open tourers. In 1973 the V8 500ci optioned Eldorado was selected as the official Indy Pace Car to promote its facelifted passenger production series with safer rear bumper, egg crate grille, revised head and tailight design and a‘space age’ 2-tier fiber optic interior. In 1976 General Motors celebrated the history and heritage of the lineage via producing 14000 Eldorados the last 200 of which were produced in white as Bicentennial Edition for America’s 200th birthday.
The Eldorado offered was produced in 1976 to feature signature Cotillion white body over Antique light blue leather. After decades in Holland it was imported as part of a private US classics collection in Athens. It now presents authentic and preserved condition with factory original to the car trim and equipment.
