Alfa Romeo Alfasud, year 1979. First registration 4 May 1979. Chassis (VIN) number AS5305230, engine number S30102* 166137*. Exterior colour white (Bianco Capodimonte AR015) combined with a dark brown leathercloth interior trimmed with dark brown carpet. This wonderful Alfasud was sold new in Italy to a Mr. Francesco de Pinto who lived in Bari. Many decades later this super original Alfasud was sold to Alfa Romeo club chairman Mr. M. Borsella. Recently Montagna d’Oro has purchased some exquisite cars from the collection of Mr. Borsella, including this fine Alfasud. The odometer currently shows 59. 162 kilometres, the car is in an excellent and super original condition, and it drives delightfully! The Alfa Romeo Alfasud was introduced in 1971. The Alfasud was a groundbreaking compact family car that marked a significant shift for Alfa Romeo. The car was developed by engineer Rudolf Hruska and the car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Alfasud was manufactured at a new factory in Pomigliano d'Arco, Southern Italy – hence the name Alfasud. The Alfasud featured innovative engineering, including a boxer engine and front-wheel drive, which contributed to its excellent handling and low centre of gravity. Its aerodynamic design and affordability made it popular among buyers. Regretfully the Alfasud bodywork was prone to rust badly so not many cars have survived. This issue tarnished its reputation despite its mechanical brilliance. Original survivors like this example are extremely rare and much sought after by alfa Romeo enthusiasts and collectors alike because of its looks, driving capabilities, and rarity. This Alfasud comes perfectly documented and fully serviced, ready to be enjoyed by a new owner!
