DMW (Dawson’s Motor Works) was a small British motorcycle maker founded by Leslie Dawson in 1940 and based near Wolverhampton
The company produced lightweight bikes through the 1950s and 1960s, often using Villiers two-stroke engines and distinctive DMW components like their own forks and frames. They were known for trials, motocross and road bikes before ceasing production in 1971, with aorund 15, 000 bikes built
This Mk II Dolomite 250 is an older restoration, but still presents very well in a period-correct Powder Blue with a cream dual seat and good detailing
Described as running well by our vendor, who is reducing his collection, the bike was featured in The Motorcycle magazine in the 1990s
Supplied with a folder of paperwork containing old invoices (including one for an engine re-build in the late '90s), old MOT certificates, and old V5s along with the current V5C where it is correctly classed as 'Historic'
A good opportunity to purchase a delightful example of an unusual and rare British marque that remains in very good condition.
