• Classically-styled Triton
• Many modern improvements incorporated
• 415 miles since completion

This Triton was crafted by the present private owner over a period of years, being completed in 1996. It comprises the traditional pre-unit 650 Triumph engine with a wideline Norton frame and Norton 4-speed gearbox. It is fitted with the customary short roadholder forks, polished alloy central oil tank, and Manx petrol tank; carburation is via twin Amal MkII concentric carburettors; electrics are 12volt, with Pazon electronic ignition and a distributor, swept-back exhaust pipes, and reverse-cone megaphone silencers. Clip-ons and rearsets are fitted, as are alloy levers, and a Tomaselli quick- action throttle. The wheels have valanced-alloy rims, and a conical front hub, with twin-leading shoe brake. The engine is to Bonneville spec, with a later 9-stud cylinder head and barrel, Morgo oil pump, and since completion, has also had a top end strip to fit new valve springs and a thicker cylinder head gasket. Transmission is via a diaphragm clutch and belt drive. Mileage since completion is 415 miles.

TSY 581 has been laid up since 2005, carefully stored in dry conditions, The vendor advises that it will require a new battery, re-commissioning, basic safety checks, ignition test, flushing oil running through, and new mineral oil adding prior to taking to the road. It should be noted that the engine number appears to be a non-factory stamping.

Included with the machine is a new exhaust system with Dunstall Decibel-type long megaphones, a tested Boyer Bransden ignition, a new long kickstart arm, and headlamp unit.

Documentation comprises an old-type V5C, old V5, a Norton Owners club dating certificate, some expired MoT certificates, a copy workshop manual, and a large quantity of suppliers' info, sundry receipts and papers.
